WholebodyFocusing.com Community List and Resource Page FAQs
The Community List will have the names and geographic locations (city, state/province, country) of all who wish to be listed on it and have received this invitation. All of our names will appear on only one page and will be free of charge. This page is hosted by Kevin McEvenue’s website and is his gift to you so that we can maintain and grow our connections.
The personal Resource Page — another option should you wish it — will be your own individual page, which gives your information so that the reader can know more about your interests, work, intentions, your applications of WBF. You’ll be able to link to your own website, if you have one. The personal Resource page is a place to let us know who you are — it’s a conversation, a sharing. It’s your way to turn towards the rest of the community, to introduce yourself. The cost for having your personal Resource Page is a one-time fee of $85 USD.
This is the place to introduce yourself to other WBFs. This can enable us to strengthen our community and recognize one another as resources. What would you like WBFs around the world to know about you? Here are some questions you might want to address in your introduction of yourself:
- What has WBF/HFC brought in you?
- Who are you in relation to the work you’ve done?
- What are you creating that people might want to do more with?
- Do you have a special interest that you’d like to have a HFC with other WBFs, a topic about which you might wish to engage in correspondence or activities?
- What are topics you’re interested in connecting with others on this page?
You can also provide a photograph, details of classes/workshops you provide, your past training experiences, your published materials, your availability for phone, Skype, or in-person consultations, your email address, and/or a link to your website, should you have one.
Since this list will be viewed by people who might be seeking out teachers, it provides them with information about the formal training of the individuals in the Community List as well as on the personal Resource page. To paraphrase the Focusing Institute website, it is up to the individual seeking training “to determine credentials and whether the person is appropriate for you.”
Your fee of $85 USD for the personal Resource Page covers the cost of the webmaster’s labor.
No, it is not an annual fee. It is a set up fee for the webmaster. There are other fees for changes.
Those who wish to submit a personal Resource Page after the deadline of February 28, 2015 will be asked to pay a fee of $85 USD in order to cover the cost of the webmaster taking time to re-open the page to add only your page.
The cost for changes to your personal Resource Page will be $28 USD.
Changes, even multiple changes to a personal Resource Page, will be possible for a fee of $28 USD. Requested changes will be added to your page within 3 weeks of your change fee payment. Additional details will be available in the near future.
You will receive an invoice from the web developer, Grayson Consulting, to pay by PayPal. We will answer any other questions at WholebodyFocusingCommunity@gmail.com.
Both the Community List and the personal Resource Page will include only those trained by Kevin McEvenue and Karen Whalen.
Information provided here will be only in English. However on your personal Resource Page you can provide a link to your website — should you have one — in your own language. We are inviting participation in the Heartfelt Conversation Forum to be in your own language if you wish. You may also provide an English translation if you wish to include this.
The starting point in heartfelt connection, that leads to heartfelt conversation, is the readiness to be grounded in a sense of me, a sense of me beyond what I think I am, or what I think I want to be, just the person that I am, that is the starting point and it is often referred to as the true self. What often comes is a sense of Me that suddenly becomes a sense of We even before I am aware of it. It just happens, and I can notice it happening because I suddenly become aware of a deepening sense of me, who I am beyond what I thought myself to be. It is then that I know that there is a We present, a kind of support that feels mutual and life-affirming for both of us.
When there is a sense of Me that has now transformed itself into a sense of We, what seems to flow is a natural conversation, a kind of back and forth exchange that seems deeply felt, a conversation that flows with a mind of its own. It could be something of mutual interest, it could be something between us, or it could be something in one of us that is saying, “I need to be heard.”
